Squeal

Squeal
1st Gen xB - I have a start up squeal identified as coming from the pulley end or the power steering area. Removal looks like it needs to be done from under the car, with the engine cross member removed for access. I don't mind, but it seems to be a fairly large
labor cost to access and then replace the parts in the way. Having just done a Lower Control Arm passenger side, and front disc brakes and rotors, I'm familiar with that side, however not wishing to suspend the engine and remove the cross member..
Ideas?

If the squeal only happens at startup I would believe it to be one of your belts and there are two. You could try using some 'belt dressing', which I'm not a fan of as it tends to make a huge mess, to see if that remedies the squeal. If it does then I'd say replacing the offending belt would be in order and, while you're in there, it might make sense to just replace both of them as the other can't be too far behind.
