Default Normal to TRD S/C flashed ECU

I recently bought a ECU flashed for a supercharger for the same model year as my tC for a project. With some digging and searching I've seen a few people say the ECU will bolt right up as long at it is the same model year, a few say you have to take it to the dealer to get the VIN reprogramed, and some people say you have to reprogram the ECU but its a simple fix that can be done through OBDII.

So if anyone can give me a more definitive answer as to what I need to do to get the ECU working with my vehicle that would be much appreciated!

I'm not a 100% sure on this but from what I remember it needs to be of the same year, or build series, and have the same transmission. If those are the same you should be good to plug it in.
