Default Heat on 1 side Cold on the other.... Help?!

So after replacing the engine on my 09 xB for the 3rd time and having it to almost new condition, the heater isn’t working properly. I only get heat on the passenger side but cold air from the drivers side. Engine was just replaced with a 60k one, new thermostat, new heater core and fuses are good.
I’ve taken the dash apart and I see nothing out of the ordinary. I can easily move the cold/hot lever with ease and nothing seems to be restricting it. Does anyone else have this issue?? I’ve tried hours of research and I can’t find anything on this issue.
