Tail light burn spots ?
Hey everyone, I seem to have an odd burn spot on both tail lights. Mind you, I just bought the car today. Specifically at the area of the reverse lights, here’s a pic for reference.
Any idea what caused this? And a fix for this? Aside from getting new tail lights which I rather not do.
I appreciate everyone’s input, thanks!

Have you pulled the light from the socket behind?
Might be that someone put a bulb that put off too much heat and its started to eat the plastic.

Yes the reverse lights work, but I have yet to open up the tail lights. Could it maybe scrub off the black residue inside somehow? Thanks!

I'd agree with what Miata said on the reverse bulbs...you can open the taillights and try to scrub the 'burn mark' off but you could also smoke or tint the rear lenses to make it less noticeable.
Lots of posts on here about opening the lights up...take your time and you shouldn't have any issues.
