It's all about a Car!! *Babble Alert*
I was trying to tell a friend last Monday night during the pool tourney about why I love My car. It isn't just the car... Yes, I do love My car, My first New Owner, fresh of the show room vehicle... Took Me 40 years to get it!
Then I explained to him about the Company behind My car, and the community growing up around it... I babbled a few Scion Stories off to him.

As a gesture of appreciation to vehicle owners, Scion gave away over 300 trips to Miami, which included off the hook events, loud parties, great food; if you knew where to look, and I vaugly remember something about an open bar
All this, as a way of saying thank you for owning your car, and showing your loyalty to us. Hell, you scratch My back, I'll scratch yours.
What other company has ever treated their customers like that? Remember when Ford & Chevy tried that a few years back? Oh, wait... What was I thinking? I'm under the impression they only care about profits and the final numbers.

Once again, SCION steps up, invites 40 Scion owners to bring their cars and show them off, stay in Boston for the weekend, and party with friends. Oh yeah, and Scion picked up the Tab. And to make it better, they invited all Local Scion owners to get free tickets.
I took Justin (My 17 yr old son) with Me for the day. We couldn't stay too late. As we walked around, we saw some great cars, some semi-decent models, and hearing unique music.
You know what struck Me the most about HIN? Down this large Hall, which opened up into a large cavern (My D&D Geek days suddenly come to mind). And in that antichamber was this huge Living Room, with SCION plastered all over it. Getting in late, I missed the food, though the remains showed it was an impressive spread before it was attacked
And the living room had gargantuan screens, with game systems, and everyone was taking turns playing.
Before We left, Justin and I took one more run through... I looked everywhere, and I couldn't find any other living rooms. Where was Honda? Nissan? Mazda? Maybe someone aught to tell those guys what a great marketing campaign they are missing out on.

HIN ~ Scion gave away tons of CDs in the Living Room. I looked at it, I hadn't heard of any of these artists (and I thought at the time I was using that term loosely) I figured I'd give it an open minded attempt anyways.
As Justin and I were walking around, we checked out other some music. This one place had some neat sounds coming from it, and I went to inquire what they had. I told him I was looking for something loud, fast, and with some trance inducing qualities. He picked a case out of his pile and handed it to Me. I gave him $5 and We were on our way back to the Cape.
Popping the CD in as we got on 93 South, I cranked it. Damn, took a few times to listen through the CDs, and I was hooked. I have no idea who they are... I do know there is a list inside each CD case that tells Me them, and I'll be sure to hop on the internet and research the songs I like and find more by the artists.
*Hey you, Big Star..
*Just wanna be seen with you...
*Hey you, Big Star...
*Like all the other girls do...
So, there it is. Just a few of the reasons I love My car. It is so much more than a machine... It is a community!
While speaking of Community, a few things are going to happen down here on the Cape this Summer.
There WILL be at least one, I'm shooting for two Drive-In nights in Wellfleet this season. One thing we learned last summer is that while the Movies start at dusk, We will need to plan to initially connect earlier, get the Pre-Admission time and Dominate the front row. Stay tuned boys and girls for the next update. Same bat time, same bat channel!!
Also, there is an incredible event being sketched out. Date and location to be secured in the next few weeks. Trust Me on this, you will want to mark your calender, make sure you have a recent oil change and a full tank of gas!!!
Yeah, I babble... If you got an issue with it, PM Me. I'd rather babble into one long single post, instead of of hitting the Enter key after each and every random thought.
