Default Qustion for Tein Basic owners.

Okay, please dont flame me. this is just a question. Has anyone taken off one of the rear spring perches to go a little lower than all the way down?

Would there be a possibility that the spring could jump out? And, no i dont want to buy another set of coilovers to go lower. just want to know if anyone tried this? Please be constructive. thanks!

I have done that (another NorCal owner did this before me and persueded me to do it also). At least 30k miles without the bottom collar. Nice & low. I have at least 60k miles on my basics now. The shocks need to be re-valved so they'll be coming off soon.

That being said... I can't be responsible if something happens. ;)

I am new to coilovers and was wondering the same thing. For those who have done this, .... does it damage the threads if you take off the collar?

I have a coilover setup in my car... and have no hardware whatsoever... just a spring and a tender-spring setup... make sure with both wheels of fthe ground that you can't easily remove the springs with one hand...

a good tender-spring is VITAL here.

yea i don't have problems with the springs popping out, because i've got some big air over a bump with the spring only, and it didn't pop out. It was so big that on the compression stroke, my fender chewed out a strip of tire about 10 inches long.
