Default What do Spyders and XBs have in comon

It turns out we have the same front control arms.

One of the Spyderchat members on our forum found out that we have the same part numbers for the front.

The reason why I bring this up is because there are urethane bushings available for them if anyone wants them and it could be possible to have performance front control arms made at a reduced cost if we combine our efforts since we share the same part.

Thanks
Dev

Funny, my buddy (who is building an MR2) noticed the front suspensions were "nearly identical" when we were powdercoating my brakes.

Yes it turns out they have the same part numbers. There MR2 parts supplier that sells the urathane bushings for us. This could be a benifit to you guys as well.
What I was hoping for is somone to manufacture light weight control arms.

What year MR2 are you talking about here? I just checked the part # on the lower control arm for an xB in our EPC and they are not the same part. Let me know if we're talking about the same part.

The person on my board has called the dealer and found out that 2000 MR2 Spyder and the 2004 xB have the same part number.

Here is the original thread. I will call the dealer myself to confirm this.
http://www.spyderchat.com/phpBB2/vie...scion&start=15

One other Spyder memeber was looking for a front control arm and tried the carparts.com site and had many hits for xB arms as well.
I believe this to be true but its better to know for sure.

They were called different things for different parts of the world.
In the UK they are badged MR2 Roadster, In Japan it is MR-S in France it was just MR because MR2 means something phonetically bad. LOL

Ok I just looked at the 2004 xB and the 2000 Spyder and they are the same part #. But the 2005- 2006 xB's have a different part # for the lower control arm. I never knew they changed it from 2004 to 05-06.

If anyone is wondering the part # for the 04 xb and 2000 Spyder is 48068-19176.

The 05-06 xB part # is 48068-59065.

Any idea what it means? It would be pronounced emm-air-deuh. Murder? Or is it some term in French I do not know?

Only thing I could think of is maybe the back mounts are different, the front(Hub Side) looks the same.

if we can find any matches for the 2005-6, then i would be all over some new arms, especially if they have adjustable caster.
