Question for you bagged peeps
Ok, i love the look of a bagged xB, and have been wanting to do it for sometime, but there are 2 huge thing that have been holding me back.
-How does it handle? I love the fact that I have tweacked my suspension so i can canyon race and auto-x her very well. So if i do bag her, i want to ba able to still fly through the twisties.
-How do the air lines hold up? Mostly in winter. Do they freeze or clam up? I live in the mountains so the winter months are really harsh, wouldnt want to bag her and have problems when I need here most.

i live in pa and we get some cold weather and it can be a problem, but ive got a fix for it, mount everyhting inside, compressors and valves, and then go to your local hardware store or lowes/ home depot doesnt matter, and get some hose, drill holes in you heater ducts under the dash and push the tubes in and seal them with silicone and run them under the carpet back to the valves and then when you let the car warm up when its really cold the heat will flow through the tubes and onto the valves therefore unfreezing anything that is in there and you should be fine, and as far as the handling goes, its just like being on any spring setup ive used, plus it give you the ability to adjust it to whatever condition, and or height you want

I haven't bagged my box yet, but here is my Jeep that I ran all winter, in pretty harsh weather, without any weather related problems. I wouldn't worry about bags on a box at all.
I think if your real serious about the autocrossing and taking the twisty roads at speed then I think a full blown coilover set might be your best setup. It will allow you to have the car corner weighted to achieve the best handling for the autocross course. Air is ok but not the stiffest feeling around the corners. Air transfers from side to side and just doesn't react as fast. No I haven't taken ours out on real twisty road at any speed over that which is posted so I don't have 100% proof that it'll be a canyon killer. It just doesn't feel as firm as it did with "spring/shock" setup. And as far as the snow season - I'd buy a beater to drive around and keep the xb in the garage till the weather got nice.I did that when I lived in Colorado.
