Default +35 offset? Will it work...

for the look I'm going for. I have a tC, and I'm wanting to put a set of 18x8.0 w/ 235/35-18's. This particular wheel I want is only available in a +35 offset.
I still haven't grasped the whole metric thing when it comes to finding wheels like this?? HELP!?!?

I'll be lowering the car 2" late Oct. , but want to know if this set up will look all right? I wanna get the wheels as flush with the lip of the fender as possible.

Just a yes or no will do? if you don't wanna get in to ne detail.

I can't find any new info on where all of you post in the "fittment" sticky. on your scions.

Thanks...looking to get these will ordered on Monday!

i'm getting set of staggered 19" rims tonight. I believe the offset is +37 on the wheels..and they told me that i should have no problem on my tC. My tC is lowered 2" already... so I'll let u know once i put them on.

i'll be running 215/35/19 front and 235/35/19 in the back... the rims are 19 x 8.5 front and 19 x 9.5 in the rear... going for the stretched look with the tires. I could run wider tires..but don't want to risk rubbing.

will keep you informed.

For a non lowered vehicle, our fitment team recommends an offset of 40mm for 18 x 8's. At an offset of 35mm's the tire/wheel package will be 5mm's (2/10th's of an inch) closer to the fender which will more than likely be ok, however, all bets are off when you lower the vehicle.

Just want to tell everyone thanks for their 2cents.

I wouldn't mind doing a staggered set-up...but really can't justify all the torment that I'd get when people figure out that the cars a front wheel drive...that and I don't have that kinda $$$. I'm gettin married...so this will be one of few things I'll be able to purchase b4 we start planning...

I'm not to worried about the potential of it rubbing when I lower the tC...its really one of many things you live with when you go down the road of customizing ur ride??

Been hack'in miniz since I was 16...so this shouldn't phaze me!

Neway thanx...I'll be sure to post up pics when I slap my "shoes" on.

Well Ryan.. i didn't get to see u. Where were u...

I just finished installing my new set of shoe.

i'll post better pix later... i ran out of battery.

these are Jaz Wheels Finish ... the front are 19 x 8.5 and rear is 19 x 9.5.
I like the euro look of the wheels...gives the tC an elegant euro sporty look.

BlueBox-

That set-up is sic bro!!

I definitely have to reconsider my options! AAAAAAhhh!

I hate looking for wheels...theres just way to damn many to pick from!!!

...btw, whats the offset of those wheels! The fenders flow into the wheel/tire very nicely!

Kudos!

the offsets are +37mm and it's a very nice set of wheels. I was iffy about it until i put them on... it really flushes with the tC body well.

Sorry to get back on topic. That car does look sweet though.

By my calculations, doesn't a set of 255/35 18's match up better with the stock diameter? 235/35 isn't going to give the same results as 225/40, which is what I normally see. It's going to be much shorter. Of course, going with a 8" wide wheel would only make things worse, wouldn't it?

Excuse my ignorance, I can't be sure. I'm just going off what I can calculate.

EDIT: Actually, I was going off the wrong tire calculations. It does look like 235/35 with 18's comes closest to the stock diameter. For whatever reason, 225/40's are used often for 18's... which are closer to 255/35 @ apprx 635mm. Hmm...

And another thing... where are all the tC wheel/tire combos on the sticky? No love...

Hey BlueBox...

You didn't mention anything about modifying the rear fenders...did you??
Just curious...cause if you did...I might just go with 19x8.5 all the way around. I don't think I'm that experienced with rolling the fenders or anything of the sort?

btw: you think a +38 in your setup would have made a difference? ...I found a set I like but they only offered it in a +38. I was going to try something new for a change and I liked the idea of the stretched look...hope you don't mind!

Bleek.. thx for the compliments. I'm trying hard to maintain a clean modified look..if that makes sense. The Euro look is definitely my goal with the tC.

Big Kid,
As for offsets... it all depends on how flush you want the wheels to be..and also what type of tire size you will be using. The tC has adequate if not very roomy wheel wells. I wanted to get the Stretched look with the tires...which in turn protrudes the rims edge abit more...making it look larger.

If u're going with the 18's... stick with abit higher size tire... ie) 40 instead of 35 series. But it depends if u're going to stretch the wheels as well.

If you look at my wheels... the offset if +37mm... but since the rear is actually wider (9.5 ) ... this flushes the rear quarter panel fender even as with the front... which is also +37mm..but only 8.5in wide.

- I had to roll the rear quarter panel fenders in order to accommodate the wider wheel for bumps and dips. It does not rub when driving straight.

I believe the max width wheel you can go with the tC is 9.5 as I have for the stock bodyline. I'm sure someone will put bigger and wider wheels with wide bodykits and so forth... but i'm happy the way my wheels sit on the stock tC bodyline.
