Default will a 185 65 15 fit stock xB setup ?? stock is 185 60 15 ??

hey guys,

Im looking at getting some better tires for the long boston winter... and there seems to be alot more options for tires in a 185 65 vs the 185 60 that the xB comes with stock

question is

will i safely be able to run the 185 65 on a stock xB .. suspension wise... just want to make sure there wont be any rubbing issues

thanx

You'll have no problems. 185/65R15 is the stock size on the Japanese bB!

FYI, our fitment team has not approved the size of 185/65R15 for the xB. The overall diameter of the 185/65R15's is .9" bigger and the width is the same, see specifications below:

185/60R15's

Measure Rim Width.... 5.50
Section Width........ 7.4
Overall Diameter..... 23.7

185/65R15's

Measure Rim Width.... 5.50
Section Width........ 7.4
Overall Diameter..... 24.6

Optional 15" sizes that have been approved by our fitment team are:

Tire Size / Overall Diameter

195/55-15 / 23.4"
205/55-15 / 23.9"
215/50-15 / 23.5"

Interesting that you see fit to recommend a tire that is 1.5 inches (26%) larger than stock in section width but not a tire that is only 0.9 inches (4%) larger in diameter. How does this "fitment team" evaluate the suitability of tires for a particular vehicle?

Since Toyota fits the 165/65R15 on Japanese bBs, it seems that this is actually the tire for which this vehicle was originally designed. The 60 series tires came along later!
