Ready to receive 300 different opinions?

There is no "best spring" or "best shock" it's all a matter of opinions. Some people love the Goldlines, others hate em.

It's one of those things. Start searching around in the existing springs threads. There are a number of different combos that work well.

How low do you wanna go? Things like that are important. What about the ride do you not currently like?

hmm I went browsing and did see one too may various opinions, I guess everyone has there own thing as usual :/ , but what would give a softer ride with a 1.5 drop ? I hate that I bounce all over my interior, some people have been replacing the struts in the front and rear too, its too expensive to go out and experiment for me what would I prefer, and its hard to interpret everyones opinions,

I have Vogtlands and I may be the only xB with them here that talks about them

A few tcs.

The drop is a little more than trd and the price is right.

Check ebay.

Plus the color is violet red.

I am surprised at how nice the ride is and the handling is way better now.

And I have stock struts shocks.

I bought them from this guy. I really mean it. I had a long ride to get them installed and the ride back was quite a difference.

If he is looking for comfort and not slamming his ride, then coilovers arent worth it at all. $1200+ on a decent set of coilovers or $150 on springs.

I think a nice combo is S-Techs wth Monroe Sensatracs all around.

the tech data suggests that a progressive spring gives the best ride quality - vs. a linear spring. The only progressive springs out there, that I personally know of is Eibach(pro + sportline) , Intrax , and possibly H&R(not 100% sure tho).

My Eibach pros ride just as nice as the stock springs/struts felt. Also, going to a 17" wheel w/ that profile tire, I'd keep it nice + clean, and not go lower then 1.7" drop (also saves yourself the hassle/pain of not having to mess with the front Camber adjuster situation).

I like the ride on my Tanabe NF210s, but the 1.7" drop isn't enough for me with 17x7 +40 wheels.

I plan to get DF210s and some Sensatracs for the back soon.

The beauty of having multiple brands to choose from is being able to find something that best suits you.

I have Tein H-Techs and Monroe Sensatracs on all 4 corners. It's about a 1.5" drop and the ride noticably much more comfortable. I can only imagine Koni Yellow adjustable shocks set to the softest setting to be a more comfortable ride than the Monroes. I haven't personally tried them, though.

If you wanted cornering performance out of your "best spring/shock combo", then the H-Techs and Monroes are not for you.

My opinion is the TEIN S-Tech's and Koni Yellow shocks. I have them, I first went with the S-Techs and I love the drop, not too much, and I didn't have to angle every driveway, just the very steep ones. Not to mention I'm on 16's, you're planing to go with 17's. The S-tech's were good with the stock shocks but the rear was too bouncy, then I went with Koni Yellows's and set them to full stiff, got rid of the bounce, stiffened up the ride and was actually much more comfortable.

thank you so much all for the advice, truth be told I like the stock height and ride, but living in New York City where the streets are so messed up I dont think a big drop is going to be made : / it may not be in the best interest for my front bumper. I do hate the way the xb bounces across everything and I flop around my interior though
