Hey all! I'm about to make one the biggest decisions of my life by buying a house. I've found one I like and am currently in the mortgage process. I'm a first time home owner and it's all really excited. My grandmother has offered to buy me a washer and dryer as I don't currently own either. Haven't had the need until now. I'm trying to find the best machines out there for around 1200-1400. I know woot.com had a great deal on a samsung front load pair a few weeks ago but they don't have any more of these units. I was wondering if anyone has a consumer reports account I could use to check out different models. Or if anyone has any suggestions as to what direction I should turn. I'm looking for front loading models and would like to buy locally at lowes or home depot. If I file a change of address I know the post office sends you a home depot 10% off card and Lowes has told me they will match it. Just trying to get the best units I can afford. I appreciate any info!

10% off at lowes right now. I am looking for some too. I would go front loader and look for the largest capacity. I never wash my clothes and always end up having to do too many loads. If you get a high capacity one it will use more water, but save time.

Either way I would go to lowes and get teh 10% back. saving 140 bucks aint too bad.

 

looks like i can take advantage of the free haul away and delivery as well as the 10% off. would be nicer to get a more expensive set and still pay 1400. I'm closing on the house on halloween so i should still be good to go. still would like to check consumer reports if anyone is out there
