SLR are automatic. Having a bad shift is highly unlikely.

I saw the outcome coming but it's sure nice to see a Bugatti Veyron do it's thing, especially when you dish out 1 million to have one...sorry Mercedes!

Loved it. The bugatti is simply an automotive monster.

Ok, I could have made a new thread, but thought the mods would have been disgruntled if the ot forum turned into a bunch of race vids. Anyway, this is an older Mercedes corporate video, for some reason narrated in French, but it's easily ignorable. Anyway, it's 4 different MB cars, 2 of which are availble to the public, 2 of which are race cars. It really highlights the difference between a $30k pedestrian car and one whose brakes cost $30k a piece.

I would hope the Bugatti would win. It's nearly twice the horsepower and twice the price. The SLR is a super nice car, but you just can't compare it to the Bugatti. Heck, you really can't compare nearly any car to the Bugatti. Except maybe a Ferrari Enzo....if idiots would stop wrecking them.

i think jay leno make like a diesel powered eco-jet powered car or something with GM, so i would imagine that is about as close as you can get.

I don't know about that but I'm pretty sure he has a turbine powered motorcycle.

Anybody else notice that in the 2nd run, the Bugatti was in the right lane, but during the "in-car" replay, it was in the left lane?
