Echo front struts lower the front of an xB Classic about half an inch because the spring perch is mounted a half inch further along the strut.

Echo rear shocks will not change the rear ride height.

Instead of Echo struts, order Monroe Sensatrac shocks and struts for the 2002 Echo - do a search here on ScionLife for "sensatrac" for all sorts of discussion and part numbers.

I have been reading through the threads regarding the use of the o2 Echo Struts and only see people using them in combination with the tanabe's and the trd's. Is there any reason you would not want to use these with the goldlines? I just ordered my goldlines today and would like to pick up some echo struts on my way home from work!

I wish that I did these before I installed the TRD's on my xB . I have seen one out here with the KYB Echo struts and the stance is awesome and the front is the perfect height with goldlines.

Keep in mind that rear shock part number (5870) is for LOWERED vehicles (shorter shock). For stock suspension height the rear Sensatrack is 5987...

I've run Xb dampers on my Echo... and yours are much stiffer than the Echo dampers.

You will likely feel a softer ride... but the extra weight of the Scion will likely wear out the Echo dampers quicker.

Absolutely.

The Scion dampers are a BIG improvement over the Echo ones on the echo.. I can't imaging going TO the Echo ones... from a Scion Xb.

The heavy scion will crash into the bumpstops harder with Echo dampers...
Also... you will notice the car more affected by wind when it's "under-damped"

Not something I'd do unless the Scion is really too rough / choppy for you and you want to drive a boat that floats down the interstate.

I think what Tomas is saying as I have understood in the past and have on my car the shorter shock(5870) is for people who are on airbags, or with a major drop, the others(5987) is not any shorter then the stock one just a better ride.
