Default Help needed... Bad Tire and Wheel deal from dealer.

Purchased an xA on friday night, 10-29-04. Upon arriving home I noticed the 18' rims on both the front left and right had some heavy road rash on them. I call the dealer the next morning at 7:30 am and informed them as to my findings and they said bring it up and they'd take a look. After arriving at the place of sale the salesman say's there's nothing they can do it would be considered wear and tear on the vehicle not covered under warranty. So I go to the "General Sales Manager" and inform him of the situation and he sayus bring the car back on monday and he'll look it over and decide on what to do. So today I get there and he comes out and has a look and decides they will send the wheels off at no charge to me and most likely the wheel fixer's will shave the outer rim on both wheels and buff back the alloy and that i'd never be able to tell anything was done to them.

So my delima is this: Do I let them do that or say hell no due to the fact that the tires and rims were $3,000.00 and demand they be replaced with completely new wheel/tire set ups for the same ammount? They have a vehicle with the 18' TRD rims and tires, and I believe they are the same price.

Any good suggestions?

yeah no kidding ... what wheel and tire package did they give you

even the 19" TRD rims are only 2000 .... 18" is like 1700 or 1800 i think

If the dealership sold you your car w/ those wheels on there, and you noticed the curb rash as soon as you got home. The dealership should be able to replace them for you. It should be covered under the warranty of the car. Also, how many miles were on the car? That would further validate your case.

I destroyed a wheel on my Matrix when it was 4 months old. Since the 18 inch wheels came on the car from the dealership, they replaced it within a day and even had the tire remounted.

If the dealership doesn't replace the wheels find the number to the regional manager and tell them about it.

I don't have the number, but you'd better call scion corporate. Tell them that the dealer overcharged your for rims that were damaged.

3 G's isn't ridiculous, depends on the what wheels/tires he got. Some of y'all are use to the cheap crap in the magazines for $1000-1400 for 18 weels and tires. Others want a Cult name brand like Volk Racing and Racing Hart.

Even Racing Hart makes RH Evolution which have the same styling as the real RH, but the RH are multipiece design and look better, but cost almost a grand more.

Actually, I was coming home from a paintball tournament in SoCal, when a suburban knocked a bbg pit into my lane, I hit it, and destroyed the wheel. Since the Tenzo wheel was on my Xr when I bought it, the dealership replaced the wheel. I have a 6 year 100,000 mile warranty on my Matrix.

You don't have to believe me, but think about this, why would I intentionally lie about it? Do you want the name and number to the parts manager at Tracy Toyota?

Maybe you don't have a good report w/ the dealerships you deal with?

They were nice to replace it. They didnt have too replace it, and it is hard to believe they did, but maybe they did. They would replace it only if there was a flaw in the wheel, not because you hit something on the road. Dont we know better than that?

Like I said, if you don't believe me, whioch you obviously don't, I'll PM you the name and number.

I have a really good report w/ the dealership. Maybe its because I refer so many people there, and they buy cars. I was looking to pay for the rim, buy the Parts Manager told me just to bring back the damaged one.

It never pays to ask. Dealerships will treat you, the way you treat them. I get alot of things comp'd to me, so why wouldn't it happen? Don't you?

So it goesback to the original situation. If the wheels were curb rashed when he drove it of the lot, and didn't notice it til he got home, then isn't he entitled to get them replaced?

They were refering to the TRD rims. True that most name brand rims cost alot, but racing rims are cheaper than the rims that VIP tuners buy.

Hmm didn't know he had TRD wheels...I know he was looking to trade them for some out of desperation. I could be wrong though.
