There's a 4 door tC in Japan?
Looks like it'd be a 5 door from the front. its pretty tall, but that's what Japan's into now.
They got that tall car boom going on over there.

Yeah that is in no way a tC. its just some other Toyota labeled as a Scion, just like we label some Scions as Toyota here.

Japanese people like to USDM their stuff over there..
it is NOT a tC you're looking at.
as a matter for fact.. it looks to be a Toyota Allion
(obviously with some modifications (like that rear badge..).. lip kit, and grille (which look to be factory options anyway... (TRD perhaps)).. and audio work)
look familiar?

I dont even know how anyone could mistake an Allion for a tC!!!!
If anything, call it a Corolla, but a tC??

It's the Corolla that we'll be getting in 2009. Interesting enough, it is going to be like a 4 door tC in that it will be available with the same engine in the XRS trim level...for about $3500 more than the tC tho.

That's XRS you posted, look at the interiors: same dash, wrong sided steering wheel. Are there stylized differences? You bet, but it's the right size, and I'd bet dollars to doughnuts, it's the same platform but with a smaller motor.
And no, I'm not looking at the Allion photo, as it does not appear to be what the young Japanese fellow is in. The Allion photo looks like the size of an Avalon, the car that dude is in looks lots smaller. Of course, it could just be that way because of the angles and the fact that there's someone in the photo to compare size with.

I am certain that our young fellow is inside an older gen Allion.. the angles of the photos does not show at all how long the car is... (straight front and rear shot, with a cut off of half the car on the middle pic)
here's another Allion on cardomain with the same kit and grille:

yea.. they stopped making that body style and switched over to a newer one i believe last year, but everything in his photos matches the body line of an Allion, including the TRD lip kit and grille... and especially the headlights and taillights that give it away.
no other Toyota in it's lineup, even the previous ones has those same body lines or equipment.. i definitely looked into that.
looking at first I did believe it was a Corolla.. but Toyota got rid of those big headlights a while back... further debating that the car will no longer be produced with that body.
as far as the platform? who knows... but this is one car they already changed to the newer Toyota bodylines... and i doubt there's gonna be much resemblence in any future cars as such

Allion and Premio are the same car,
Interior of the Allion resembles the Avensis and current gen Corolla and x110 Mark II sedan.

The Allion, Premio and the tC are built in the same Tsutsumi Plant (also the Prius, Camry, and Wish).

Some sort of parts sharing is expected; though some slight modifications to the parts maybe needed for each model.

No part of that car resembles the tC in any way shape of form. they are just emblems.
Oh, but there kinda is a 5 door tC, the Toyota Avenis or whatever that the tC is based on, that is about as close as you can get to a 5 door tC.
