Default Spring Install question

I have Tanabe DF210 lowering springs and I noticed that the part of the spring that is tightly wound (coils close together) is on bottom with the other part on top. I saw a pic of someone's scion with another set of springs on that showed the tight part on top. Is this simply Tanabe's design or were my springs installed wrong? Can anyone else with DF210s confirm which way the springs go in? Thx.

I run the Tanabe df210's. There's nothing in the documentation that says they should be any different than any other similar spring. The closer wound coils are at the top... In fact, I think there's even a picture of a spring in the upright position in the part of the docs that tells where to put the anti-clatter winding stuff.

Hmm interesting... My documentation shows the spring on its side, so there is no way to tell which end is up. I just noticed that all print on the side of the springs (says Japan DF210) reads correct with the coils in tight wound part down. However I have seen more springs on the rear of Scions with the spings in the other way... It would be real easy to flip them around, I just dont want to fix it if it aint broke. Anyone else have ideas?

Here's a pic of the sheet I'm talking about + a shot of the box they came in if that helps at all. Also, on mine, the text is right side up when the springs have the tighter coils at the top.

Wow. OK. Thanks g33k. My DFs did not have that yellow sheet in the box. Rather, its a white zerox photo of a spring on its side. Heres the other thing... My DF210s are white, not purple as pictured in the box (mine came in that same box). I have decided to call Tanabe USA on monday to clarify.

Sho nuff... Mine are also white even though the pic on the box is purple, I think the purple thing is prolly just a marketing thing.

Just got off the phone with Tanabe, and it turns out everything is OK. The tech pointed the DF210 logo is rightside up and that the diameter of the spring is different on the top and bottom, and therefore should only fit one way. Duh.. Guess I should've looked at that before I made any assumptions
