Default Scraped the bottom :(

Well...here is the short story. I was going out with a few friends and I had to go into a driveway to turn around. I was backing out, going very slow as usual, when I went over the curb instead and I hit the underside of my front bumper I went outside to take a look and its a 2x3 scratch on the underside of the car. Its not really that noticeable, but it still bothers me (plus this is brand new car). Does anyone think it can be buffed out, of does the whole bumper need to get refinished? Did this happen to anyone else?

I think a lot of you guys are talking about scraping on a driveway. It sounds like this guy went over the curb by accident. A curb scratch can be pretty nasty, depending on whether or not you can see it from a normal angle. I have a ridiculous amount of bumper rash from driveways, but it doesn't concern me at all because none of it is visible to the public.

I changed cars with my dad a couple weeks ago and the next day i got my car back i wanted to wash it....so as i was washing in i happen to notice something on my front lip....i take a closer look and it was scratches about the size of my index finger....and im ____ed you cant really notice it espically since its towards the bottom, but i know its there...

I turned the light on outside and unless you get at a certain angle, you really can't see it. However you know its there. I will check tomorrow morning for sure.

Too bad there is no metal piece you can slap down there so it can protect the bottom...

Ha. You should see the underside of my front bumper. It's all fun and games until you get dropped . It'll happen. Only way to keep your car scratch free is not driving it. If you want to make it look better. Get some touch up paint and using a tooth pick fill in the gash with paint.

wow your on stock springs for now and worried about your bumper. once you go lower it's gonna happen every now and then if not plenty of times, so get used to it if not then don't bother lowering it and putting on a lip kit cause it will get worst.

i have almost worn the tow-hooks down to a stump.... i have the trd struts and springs.... the extra weight of the s/c is negligible (though it is on the wrong side of the axle for weight concerns). i guess i ate too many x-mas cookies.... damn the shame.

^ I'm on TRD springs, shocks, and struts too. So those metals things are tow hooks? I always wondered. Mine are pretty worn too, because they are always hitting the ground. They actually do a pretty good job of protecting the bumper from more serious damage.

you're bound to scrape sooner or later.

I dont think you can find a lowered car without at least a few scrapes below the front lip.

its like a right of passage when a car gets lowered, its not really lowered until you scrape something.

its painful for me to see it, so I try not to pay attention to my front lip when I look at it. I justify it to myself that one day I may just replace the front lip with an rs1 or something
