Hey, i just got tints on my tc. After picking up my car i didnt get any information what to do and not to do with them. Anything i need to know? Like what kind of window cleaners to use and not to use. Thanks.

 

they didnt even tell you not to put them down for a couple days or not to used the rear defroster since its winter?!

 

It depends on the shop. When I got mine done, I was able to roll down my windows, but just to be on the safe side, give it a few days. Don't use any cleaners with ammonia in it. Invisible Glass is one of the best IMO.

 

yea def dont roll them down, the defroster is a first, i never heard that one.

 

i've gotten my tints twice since they busted my windows like 2 weeks ago from 2 dif. shops. they both told me not to used my rear defroster

 

so you cant use the rear defroster EVER? or just not for a while after you get them tinted?

That and a CLEAN micro fiber towel.
Do not use newspaper!! (At least not on the inside of the windows where the tint is. )

 

don't use anything with ammonia in it like windex on the side with the tint

 

The usual rule of thumbs is don't roll them down for two days, more if it's cold outside (especially in NJ), park it outside in the sun if possible during that time, don't use anything with ammonia on the inside (just like everyone else mentioned), don't use any abrasives on the inside, or anything that would dry out or scratch the tint, and don't use the defroster for the first two days. Usually water and mild soap should do just well enough to clean anything off the inside of your windows.

By the way, how dark did you go?

 

I've never used the rear defroster anyway...

Well we all aren't lucky enough to have it be 70 degrees all year round.

 

i dont see why u wouldnt be able to use the defroster. My guy that i take my cars to always tells me not to roll em down for a week. Its usually still wet between the tint and the window a lil so im assuming they dont want you to roll down your windows till all that excess mouisture dries up. But no defroster...why?

it causes the water to evaporate, so youll get bubbles....

lol. i hope you do roll down the windows, and your tint gets F*ed up and you take it back to the shop and they do absolutely nothing for you cuz you rolled down the windows even though they told you not to.

its not wise to disregard what proffesionals say.
