Default Smoother ride, new shocks and struts?

Hey all,
I have an 04 with 30 series tires riding on DF210's. I have about 85K on the box and it rides rough. which is nice for driving hard, but it is also my daily driver. The shocks and struts have never been replaced so I am thinking they are do. I read the thread about the monroe shocks and was a bit confused. Do you guys have any suggestions for making it a bit smoother?
Thanks again,

P

With anything under 45 series it will always ride somewhat rough-especialy because our cars are so light-the sidewalls just do not flex enough.

I went from 205/40-17 to 205/50-17 FR and 215/45-17 rear and it made a huge difference. It actually corners better too because there is a little give in the tires to deal with ripples in the pavement. It made the car feel more substantial too.

I just got my Monroe 72245 struts mounted and boy do they make for a smoother ride. I've been riding on the rear 5987 shocks for awhile now so it's perfect having the fronts match the rears for a change.
This should be a must do for anyone still on the stock setup. They are just too stiff for american roads.

If you still want a lowered stance without sacrificing comfort you can get the Tein H-Tech springs. I have H-Techs and Monroes on all 4 corners because I wanted a lower, yet more comfortable ride. It worked out perfectly.

Your 30 series tires will be the only thing you have to worry about. You might still end up with a harsher ride because of them.

BTW, the H-Techs don't lower the car as much as the DF210s. It's about a 1.5in drop compared to the 2in from the DF210s.

H Techs only lower an inch. Not 1.5 inches. ^^^^

i could have sworn they lower it by at least 1.2in. It looks like my box is lowered about 1.5in after 6 months of having them on.

Only way to know for sure is to get some actual measurements. But you would have had to recorded your original measurements before the drop.

I recently installed the monroes that are made for the xb. I can say the ride is smoother but not softer. If your looking for a comfortable ride (which I am too) your gonna have to go with a larger profile tire. My experience is a 215/40/17 is the best for looks and comfort.
