all HID bulbs have always been illegal unless they came with the car.....like the guy above said...dont get 8000k + and you'll be fine......i had 8000k for a while and i never got trouble from cops but i did get some dirty looks from them. and road visibility wasnt that great so i removed them.....

Its a looks thing IMO. Yes, they light up the road a bit better, but honestly they dont impress me much over stock lighting on newer cars. And unless they are done just right, the DO blind other drivers, which is illegal and should be. Actually, some of the stock HIDs are boarderline on that as well. I have seen OEMs that have really p!$$ed me off because of blinding me.

Some will justify that they last longer, although that is not a real reason, since you will not replace near the amount of standard bulbs to pay the difference for HIDs ever. My last car went through 2 sets of bulbs in about 120,000 miles. I have never replaced the bulbs in my Saturn (I have had it for the last 80,000 miles of its 170,000 mile life), or the 4Runner or tC. So bulb life isnt the deal.

But, if people like the looks of HIDs, do it correctly so they dont blind people and are willing to spend the money for them, then that is cool to. Just not my thing.

You ever wonder why all HID Kits comes with the warning fine print " For Off-Road Use Only". It's because it's illegal. I have used 8000K for a while never got stop for it. I didn't like the 8000K anyways since it was too blue for me.

I've got 10000k in my 08 projectors. Cops pulled me over once for blue parking lights so I figured I would ask them if my hid's were illegal also. They said no and just asked me to take out my led's in front of them. lol

really, I wouldn't have even asked don't ask and don't tell. Got lucky there. I haven't been flashed for my HIDs yet. Had them for almost 2 months now. Also drove directly behind cops a couple times and never had any trouble for them. I got 6K

People who blind me with crap hid kits can cry when I run them off the road

Seriously though... why should anyone really care? I mean, as long as YOU can enjoy the "bling" of a crap hid kit, who cares if others have trouble seeing and possibly get in a wreck due to your glarey headlights? God, those selfish people....

hahahaha.. there must be a lot of vampires on the road over in B.C., you know since those headlights are killing people and everything. I really think its going to be a cold day in he11 before they start operation de-HID. I think police have many other issues that take precedence over this. Yeah, ok, sometimes they may get bored and mess with you for it a bit, but based on experience, they will leave you alone, unless you have made a target out of yourself, or have a negative reputation. Some people (those who complain about HID's) must always have something to complain about. The people that complain about HID's are the kind of people who stare at the sun. But hey , it takes all kinds.......right???

There's a group of people out there trying to get daytime running lights banned, for what reason? I have no fricking clue. And as for killing people? What about when the sun rises/sets and you can't see out your dirty windshield and get into a wreck? I guess they can just sue the Sun, amiright?
