Default painting/powder coating springs

was wondering if anyone has done this, and if it is safe to powder coat springs (wouldnt the heat mess with the spring physics when they bake it? they do bake it, right?)

and if anyone has successfully used some kind of spray paint, how did you do it and what did you use

Not only that, but... the springs aren't the most visible thing on the car... I mean, yea, you can see em, but who really cares that much?

Baine did this to his springs...and much more under his xB. Everything seems to be holding up very well considering how much he drives it in Atlanta traffic...

I have over 60,000 on my powdercoated Tein s-techs and have yet to find a crack.
As to the heat issue, the springs are not in the oven very long and the oven is only
about 400 degrees. I have gotten lots of kudos from show judges for having gone the
extra mile and powdercoating my springs. The rear ones are very visible. Of course
this means that I have to keep them clean. As a side note, they come from the factory
powdercoated. I have also done the lower chassis brace as well as both front and rear
swaybars. All yellow of course.

its not really about show purposes or pretty colors, i just want to re-paint them because some of the paint has been scuffed off and it is rusting a little bit. i know that its no big deal but it bugs me... so the paint would be for functional purposes only.

I won't be any help in the price department as I bought a pizza for a friend of mine
that has a powdercoat booth and just happened to have the right color yellow left over
from another job.
