Default larger sized nitto's

i have 17" x 8" rims with nitto neogens 215x40x17 and even with the tanabes on the front they just don't fill the well exactly the way they should (IMHO). i also want to get the speedo back to a semblance of normal (off about 3% highway). i can't afford coil-overs at this time and thought about going up a bit in width, series or both. it looks like i could go as high as a nitto nt555, 255x40x17. any experience here with rubbing, funny looks or???? i also thought about 18" rims but the dealer is paying for the new tires and i don't want to push it as they probably want to get the exact same thing as last time.

Wheel offset? DF210 or NF's?

255 is WAY too wide, no matter what. If you want a bit more sidewall, go with 205/45/17, and use shims/spacers to space the wheels out as much as possible.

You might be able to run a P225/40r17 or even a P225/45r17 but not much larger than that without having issues with rubbing.
