I'd like to start a wheel fitment guide with pictures. only submissions with pictures to prove the fitment will be retained. PLEASE UPLOAD PICS DIRECTLY TO THE FORUM!
Post should be like this:
Wheels: type: size, OFFSET IS IMPORTANT (SPACERS ARE A PART OF OFFSET) Tires: SIZE and BRAND Suspension: how low or lowered status IS IMPORTANT, camber IS IMPORTANT! Fender rubbing issues: what brand, what's done, shaved, hammered, pulled, rolled etc.

no not really, here some info i dug up, "The offset is described by the term ET, which is from the German word 'Einpresstiefe' translated as 'insertion depth'." from http://www.driverstechnology.co.uk/wheel-offset.htm
Wheels: Drag Dr20 15x7 10mm offset with a 3mm spacer in the front so that it will clear the caliper.......
Tires: Falken Ziex ZE-512 195/50/15 gives you the stretched look.....
Suspension: Tein Basic Coilovers dropped all the way in the front so that's like 3 inches plus and all the way in the back so that's like 2.8 or so but then again I did raise it slightly so i would say 2.5 in the Rear.
Fender rubbing issues: hammered the rear fenders(yea da paint chipped). Tires rub in the front from time to time normally when I'm doing my touge thing (yea I'm one of those ppl). But other then that there's no rubbing with everyday driving.

Correct, et is another way of saying offset of the wheel, not the final offset with spacers or shims. So on mine, I have et15 wheels but my final offset with rear spacers is 5.
As for rubbing, tire width AND profile has alot to do with it. Rears tend to start rubbing on the front/top edge of the rear lip (about 2:00 or 10:00 dpending on which one you're looking at) and the overall diameter of the tire really affects the likelyhood of rubbing there with lower et's. 195/50/15 is a great size, but if you want to go really low and wide (like et0 002's) then 195/45/15 can work.

Suspension: cut stock springs with shorter shocks and struts
Fender rubbing issues: yes, hammered the rear fenders out to fix that, pulled the fronts out and added spacers to them. I only rub in the back on big dips in the road.
Wheels: type: Rota PDC 16x8 +35 offset
Tires: 205/40/16 Federal 595
Suspension: Air
Fender rubbing issues: no

Raw Smoke wheels (which are now HD Smoke wheels)
18x7.5 if i'm correct they were a 42 offset
I was running 225 35 18 nankang tires

no rubbing issues at all
Rota D2 17x8.5 25 et(offset) running 215 45 17 nankang tires on them.

Fenders were rolled because I was that low. rubbed some at full lock and some in the rear. If i had gone with a 40 series tire and camber I would have been perfect!

On a side note this is not as low as these will go. I have to keep the box raised up some in order to get into my driveway.

Wheels: Work Emitz. 18x8 +50 FR, 18x9 +45 RR, 1in. spacer all around Tires: 215/35/18 Nitto Neogens. slight stretch on rear wheels. Suspension: Tanabe DF210's. (about 2.5" all around) Evolved Concepts -3 Rear Camber Shims. Fender Rubbing Issues: were rubbing like crazy on the fwy. had to roll and hammer rear fenders.
Excuse my foot in the last pic. lol. and yes that's my father in the garage.

I'm new here and will throw in to continue the 12 yr resurrection........................crusty sunburnt 17" Enkei's that came on the 2004 8P8 5 spd I just scored about 12 days ago............

Suspension: H&R 1.5" drop springs on Koni STR shocks and struts with about 2 degrees of camber in the front; rear is at factory setting.
Wheels: 16x8 ET25 front and 16x9 ET15 rear with no spacers. Light roll on the rear fenders and the only (very slight) rub is at the inside front at full lock.
Tires: Trash that's getting replaced soon. They're currently 205/50R16 all around, and I'll be changing the front to 195/50R16 when they're swapped. It will bring the overall diameter almost exactly to stock and I'm hoping will correct the rubbing.
The wheels were a used find that I'm not sure I'll be keeping yet. I love the way they look on the car, but they weigh a ton and the brand isn't exactly highly regarded in performance circles. I'm going for weight reduction with this project, so this choice was admittedly a bit counterintuitive. Whatever. I'm also doing a whole lot of research into how I might be able to bring the roll center and scrub radius back to a more functional level. The car handles decently well as it sits, but it can definitely be better. I also have poly bushings for the whole shebang that are just waiting for a weekend where I'm less busy and/or lazy and can install them.
