i have skunk2 springs and im not really happy with the drop in the back any ideas on making it a bit lower? the front looks good but the back could use another inch

 

5 or 6 50lb bags of concrete mix in the cargo area.

Might have a slight effect on acceleration and braking performance though.

The rear shocks have no effect on the rear ride height, only the front.

 

yeah if i was gonna throw down all that money id just get some s techs... i didnt know if there were some minor suspension mods i could do to the stockies to make em a lil lower... probably just see if some one who is too low wants to trade springs

 

Only way to lower your current springs would be to add some spring clamps. Not sure if you'd have enough space between the coils tho to fit them in tho. You would basically clamp 2 of the coils tight together lowering the ride height more.

 

Actually that is incorrect. Check the Sensatrac threads on this. The difference in gas pressure in the stock shocks actually raise the height up about 1/4" over the monroe's design. There have been before and after shots to illustrate the difference, and I saw this on my own car.

 

but how would that change the weight of the car resting on the springs... i have heard alot that shock swap wont change ride height bc its all in the springs

 

Hmm... I was having an issue the other day and swapped my Monroes with OEMs... the ride height didn't change at all.

In fact, I even lowered it just on the spring and even that was only slightly lower.

 

Plus, if he's looking for an extra inch in back, it might be worth it to just get new springs - like the DF210s.

Or toss a heavy sub box in the hatch.

150-200 lbs added to the back should be enough for a 4-6mm drop.
