Default traction control/VSC question.....

I just purchased a 2004 xB RS 1.0 last week and have a question.....

When I first start out in the morning, at the end of 2nd gear or beginning of 3rd, the slipping light comes on and it beeps a few times briefly and the VSC (I guess) kicks in for a brief second. Then I hear it no more the rest of the day. (or at least as long as it stays warm) I've read in the owners manual the part where it says that you may hear a noise a few seconds after starting, and that it is normal. Is it? I'm riding on 18" Enkeis, so I don't know if that may have something to do with it. Thanks in advance.

Eddie

P.S. Pics soon. This baby is sweet! Someone hooked it up. I don't even know what all is stock!

that used to happen to me for a month or so, on and off... could never be explained, but it would only happen for a second, then it would go away.
issue went away on its own i guess, i haven't experience it in over a year..
i hooked up my code reader and could never pull a code, so i figured it wasn't serious.

any other Gen 1 owners experience this?

Thanks, h8. Same here.... only a second, then no more. I'm just wanting to make sure so that if something is wrong, the warranty picks it up. Like I said, there was something in the manual that kinda sounds like this, but I figured you guys would know best.

Ok..... so I think I may have found the source of this issue. Think being the key word. Yesterday, I was able to wash my vehicle for the 1st time since buying it. (It's been raining daily here.) Afterwards, it did the same thing, making me wonder....... could it just be the fact that there's moisture in the system (brakes, etc.)? When I leave for work at 5AM, the morning dew is present. Maybe it just needs to get going and dry out. So, unless something else makes me worry about it, I'm going to write it off as this. Reasonable?
