Im thinking about painting my steelies some color
but idk which
im want something that will catch people's eye when they see it
but still look good
im debating if i am going to still put on my hubcaps over it (to get a 2-tone effect)
or just run them w/o em
so any suggestions on color?
ive gotten red and purple as suggestions from ppl already
any other color that will look good on BOP?
thanks

yeah orange would look good with the BOP I think. and I say no wheel covers, just get the trim rings etc,
you could look at Auto Zone etc, at the high heat engine paint I know there is some orange, but I don't know what shade, it may be too red for you, you need something like a "hugger" orange, something kinda shinny and bright.

On the S10 I used to have, I painted the steelies all half-assed (i.e., my paint prep was washing. I didn't even sand) with Duplicolor black engine enamel, and they came out nice, and held up well.
In the 1960s, Mopar engine blocks were a distinctive shade of orange, sorta like a neon light. That would be a pretty intense color on steel wheels.

If there's a matching Duplicolor engine primer, that wouldn't be a bad investment. Pretty much any color other than black or gray is going to lousy if you do a totally half-assed job. It's probably worth spending the extra few dollars for primer.
...ok, I just went and looked at my can of engine enamel, and it mentions nothing about priming. Just do a good job cleaning your wheels. Get at least two differently-sized wire brushes (one for small bits, the other for broad surfaces, obviously). You should be ok if you're not a spazz, and not in a hurry in applying the paint.
We need pictures when it gets done!

that orange should look great. you could take it a step further if you want them shiny and do a clear coat on them as well.
and as stated above, you should be fine with out a primer for that kind of paint if you clean everything really well and take you time.
