Default 18 or 19" Wheels - which to choose?

I just bought an Xa and am trying to decide which TRD wheels to add - the 18" or 19"...

Any opinion on which have a better ride/look/performance? I'm leaning towards the 18" - I'm worried that the 19" are going to look great, but will be pretty bumpy for regular driving.

Much thanks for any thoughts.

The larger you go = the heavier the wheels will be = less performance.

Upgrading to 18 and 19 will degrade the ride quality pretty much the same. You probably won't be able to tell the difference between the two.

yeah basically. size plus not too much degradition in perf. it's all about the look he is trying to acheive tho. i mean if i was putin big rims on i'd go for the 19s cuz not too many are on 19's and can u say rubber bands?

im on 19's and the ride is pretty sweet.... im on 215/35/19 tires and im cool.... i actually carried both my stock and 19 and only a lil bit of weight difference ...but i guess it depends on what type of 19's you get....
but there are sweet xbs on 16's and 17's that make me think twice but when i get out of my car and notice no wheel gap and a big ___ rim ..... i am satisfied!!!

I agree. Anything over 17" will look way out of proportion to the xA, IMO. 16" or 17" rims and tires are usually much less expensive, and you prolly won't have to worry about rubbing. Also, your speedometer might not be too affected, either.

Default no 19s?

So, just from a visual standpoint, people think the 18s are big enough? I've found some pretty good deals on the 19-inch package including tires.

....just trying to see more pics of with 19 and with 18s... anyone have any galleries to share? Just trying to see a comparison between an xa with 18s and an Xa with 19s... preferrably seeing the TRD Racinghart wheels...

thanks much!

The Toyota-OFFERED TRD wheels should fit OK...

For that price tho, IMO, you could pick almost ANY wheel available...

18 or better than 19, but overall i would go with 17's because the large u go, the harsher the ride.

i think you should go with 19's...just to get that big wheel gap out of the way...get a 2 inch drop and you will be set....because with anything smaller than 19 it will have a big gap still...if you are going with look and not performance then go with 19's...at longo toyota they have an xb with 19 axis wheels and they look good....:D...i have 19's on my xb....:D

the ride with 19's is no different than with 18's...i used to have 18's on mine but i had to go with bigger wheels...i didn't like the gap i still had with the 18's...and that is with a 2 inch drop....but now combined with the 19's and 2' drop i love it....no gap at all...:D...its still rides good...and not bumpy or rubbing...:D..

I've had 15's, 17's and 19's and with that said, I think 18's would be the best balance for looks. The ride sucks with 19's and you have to avoid every imperfection in the road. The 17's look a little small in my opinion, so again , the 18's are a better compromise in my opinion.

If I had an xA, it would be dropped on cooilovers, have a bodykit, and prolly 18s, though there are some xAs w/ 19s and the above listed mods that looks SICK.

this is with 19's, with a 25mm rear spacer, 2"drop w/ body kit

ride is tight but definately not harsh with the Tein coil overs

this is with 18's .......yadda!!

nice ride a bit smoother over the 19ths,.... the car feels lower which was cooler to me.

this is the 17's.......no spacer

about the same as the 18ths not much difference

lowered on 15ths

which incently ride the best, the best mileage, the best exceleration, and probobly the steathest look....still turned heads......got the gawk, ya know!!!
