if you rock only a front lip does the side profile of the car look weird?
does the bottom of the front lip sit lower then the sides?

im trying to decided if i should get a cb front lip or just and get a fiber glass full lip kit

also generally how expensive is paint and install? or how hard is install?

 

It sits a bit lower than the rest of the car. It's not by much though. My tC had it but I don't have a lot of side profile pics of her. This is one of the better ones.

Front Lip only, Does NOT Look good. Keep in mind if you are lowerd, you most likly will scrape. C/F is a coated Fiber Glass, Both of which will crack very quickly and easly if it is hit.

I dont have experience with kits for the TC. But on my Celica the fit was terrible. Took me a whole weekend worth of cutting, re-glassing, and smoothing and bending witha heat gun to fit.

A Shop will charge roughly $800-1500 depending on the kit to paint and install.

 

I had the abs lip and I got it on in about 10 mins. It lookms alright from the front but its a little lower than the rest of the car. The lip is abs so it won't break that easily. I would go with the cf one if you're a careful driver though since its different from everyone else

 

Look in my profile, I got a side view pic of just the CF front lip. I know the pics dark, but it shows how much lower it is than the rest of the car.

CF will indeed crack easier than ABS, but it's stronger than fiberglass and also by easier to crack doesn't mean easy in general. My CF lip has been scraped pretty hard a few times and it's only got scratches. Drive easy over the rough stuff and you'll be fine.

 

i was rocking a RS1 front lip ABS plastic for a bit.. it was nice.. it did sit a little lower than the rest of the car, but all in all it was still hot..

i actually picked it up from a shop in brooklyn for $120.. I'm bsp soo i didnt get it painted, but just for the front lip it cant be over 400... theres a shop in queens that will do it for 400, but i tihnk that is pretty damn expensive..

i say its a go.. im pretty low on my hotchkis springs (lower than normal i think) and i barely scrapped on the mean streets of queens.. although u need ninja like driving..

 

I always thought it looked awkward gives the car a jay leno chin...

Save up and get a full kit. Front lip alone looks silly. Even the OEM one, which isn't that much lower, looks odd.

 

yeah maybe ill save up for the full cf lip kit, im not about to buy a normal one then pay 800-1500 for paint and install

 

i dont think that the front lip alone looks awkward enough to make the whole kit a necessity...

I think the tC looks MUCH better with no lip kit than only front lip. Whenever I see a tC with just that front RS1 lip all I can do is shake my head. It looks unbalanced, incomplete, unprofessional, and cheap. Do it right or not at all. Believe me I want a lip kit very badly and like every one dont want to shell out +$1000 for one. But I'd rather settle for having my car look decent from every angle than great from only a head on angle, and awkward from every other point of view
