Default new xB...speed for first 1000 miles.

guys,

i got my xB 2 days back. I have heard that you shouldnt go above 60mph for the first 1000 miles - to optimize your enginer performance.

Is this true?

I do belive it tells you in the owner manual but i thought it was not long distance for the first 500mi so that you can brake the motor in. Also no constant speeds like highway driving.

High speeds are fine, as long as it doesnt lead in too high of an RPM. I sit around 3200 @ 80mph anyways. As long as you didnt floor it to get to there, high speeds should be fine.
