I NEED HELP !!!My Potential VRD Fogs Install
Hey everyone that has APT/VRD fogs w/ the lipkit that didnt cut ur lip.. I need your help ..how the heck did you get them in?? forced them ?? what tools did you use ??., I got one side of the light in but I need help with the other.. please help i dont wanna have wasted $100 cause I really like em.. I need help ASAP I wanna install them tomorrow[/b]
id just recommend trimming.
if you force it in, then its likely gonna be under stress, meaning if you hit a large bump or something, theres a greater chance that the fogs will pop out.

Use a large flat tip screwdriver and pry on the clip to pull it over the lip on the bumper. Be careful not to bend the clip too much. I have done this on both of my tc and it has worked good.
b52hdunn .. pry on which end of the clip.. the kind with the funny end or the end attached to the metal clip in thing ?? and pry which way?? like i said i had the one side of the light in but the other iz a pita.. i tried to tape the clip thing down but to no avail
Kind of hard to explain. You want to put the screwdriver on the clip in between the u-shape bend then pull towards you(away from the fog light.) You will end up pulling the clip towards you and up and over the plastic lip of the bumper. May help to have someone push the foglight in from the outside as you are doing this. Hope this helps.
i got the u shaped bend in no problem... its the other side thats the issue. it the side if ur looking at the back of the light is the on the left.. (the big clip ) it wont fold down so i can slide the rest of theligh back into the slot...
I tried today .. and i got one light in sorta.. lol it wouldnt push back all the way.. didnt wanna cut the lip but I guess I have to.. the other light is a _____ lol the big clip pops out too easy.. i guess i'll loctite it

whoa loctite? will that even work in that situation?I thought that stuff only worked on bolts and screws?
either way..if thats your solution just to trim the lip. I can't see a reason not to.
If you're, for whatever reason, concerned about resail value just part out the lip and sell it on the forums as a lip precut for VRD fogs.
Trying to glue the crap out of the fog onto the car might become more trouble than its really worth
no I was going to loctite the big clip that it wont stay in that well..i guess i do need to cut the lip cause I got the light clipped in on one side but it wont push back I think if I just trim the lip a little or get a shop to do so maybe it will work ..
To fix the clip you can bend the little tab of metal more so the clip will stay on the light. I had to do that on one clip and if you need a larger groove just cut a deeper cut into the light itself with a dremel.
