Driving to a party on Saturday night I hit a pothole and bent both rims on the passenger side.

I found replacements rims and got them installed for about $300. Its kind of a sucky way to start off the new year.

Alot of city's will compensate you for damages caused by potholes. You should call city hall and see what they can do.

 

^^^Here in Chicago, you'll be waiting for almost a year before you get reimbursed for the pothole damage...

 

I have made copies of all the bills to bring the city, now I just need to take some photos of the pothole and ask the city for a reimbursement.

 

What type of rim was it? Would love the see the other side.

 

i also got screw by pothole in NJ.

I dropped it off in Wheel America in Philly. Going to pick it up Monday.

I think it's more '35 series FTL'.

 

That sucks. I hate potholes.That's why I usually run a 205/55-15 or 225/50-15 tire & even then I still worry about potholes.

Yeh, and a lot of people with alloys have the steelies stored (mine are in attic. Hope to never need them again. And I stay with the series 60's, and hope they protect my tires from potholes.

We've replaced soooo many wheels at work for these stupid potholes! Can't complain though cause it's keeping us busy...
