Any suggestions? I hear it may not fit right? I also searched.

 

When i installed my hood, i had fitment problems and locking problems. The solution was washers. I used 2 washers on the bolts on the left side to get the fitment to be perfect. Then i used 4 washers on the locking thing (that metal piece that locks when you slam the hood). After adding all of the washers it fit and locked perfectly! Good luck! youll love it!

 

The Kami hood is one of the best fitting hoods out there.......you will have at best minor problems with fitment.The biggest one is the latch.It may amd probably will need a little bit of adjustment.which is easy to do.

Pop out your top grille,loosen up the bolts holding the latch a bit,not much,close hood and it should latch snug,then tighten bolts and pop hood up and let it close again,should latch perfect.

Mine was the only one so far that had the wrong latch hook put on hood from kami,it was too long and I had to totally relocate the latch to get it to close.....but they said that was a fluke and next dayed me the proper latch,which i still have not put on as I like the way my latch is lower than all the others.

 

Well, I am depressed, it doesn't fit. Because I am turboed by Dezod.

I also had problems with the latch. I resolved it the same way as mentioned before, putting some washers under it. After that, no issues at all, and amazing fit.

 

Wait!!!??! It doesnt fit with the dezod kit?!!?!? Faillllllllllll, oh wells looks like i have to get the Ptuning kit then hahaha

d'oh! i am getting the hood put on monday, and planned to order my dezod turbo kit this week! great...i wonder if it is just dezod kits that don't fit with the kami hood...

 

sorry to hear that it doesn't fit dude but you should have done some research first... its a well known fact that it doesn't fit with most turbo kits

 

I could get a custom manifold made that makes the turbo sit lower like TurboToyotas kit. Then I would need a custom shorter downpipe, possbily a custom intake pipe, and modify the first piping of the intercooler.

 

meh...i can still order a different turbo kit, if not dezod, maybe a turbo toyotas kit, or a decendant turbo kit. looks like the decendant turbo kit would be able to accomodate the kami hood.

hahahahaha...yeah, i will not be ordering anything from p-tuning, not something worth going into really, the past is past...but no...not going to discuss that...

yeah...sigh...what a problem...everything was looking so up for me, got my cf hood, was just about to order my turbo kit this week...and now...gotta pick the one that fits...or have one custom made...

 

or just not use the hood.

yeah.. i had problems with the fitment.. i couldnt open the hood because of the fender on one side the hood sits lower than the fender

and i had to use washers because i couldnt close it.

oh and what i really recommend is to take it to a graphics shop and let them put an overlaminate film on the hood ( like the clearbra) ... ON THE WHOLE HOOD !!!
like 3m glossy cast overlaminate.. they come in 52 inch widht. it should cover the whole hood..

on my hood the clearcoat is damaged already its not even 1 year old.
