hey guys i just recently bought the rs1 lip kit. i have searched around and cant seem to find a DIY on installation. how is installation? is it very difficult? ive had a friend tell me the double sided tape would be all i need but is that really enough? idk i just dont feel safe tapeing ainything to my car.

its not hard just use your head man you think tape is going to hold it on doing 80-90? if you dont want to use screw's then get a drill with a tiny bit and measure where to drill the hole's and use zip tie's pop rivits etc.....

 

double sided 3m tape, zip ties, and screws for the sides. they give you hardware for the back (you can use some of the 3m tape too if you want). and i didn't install my front cause i have oem. so it's prolly not far off from the other ones.

 

ok sounds like zip ties ties is a good idea.. i ordered it friday and plan on havin it painted the day after i get it. hopefully i can learn how to uplad pics on here and i will post pics of my car

small drill is what the dealership would use.

 

i'm serious, you sould see how much of my car is held on by zipties.

lol, i take stuff off so much it's much easier to just cut and ziptie it back on.

i got bumpers held on with zip ties, i had sensor cables. the works.

 

does any one have any pics of zip ties holding the front lip...bec. i wanna see how it works (plan on getting the RS1 front lip)

WTF? Zip ties? I hope you're all joking. Just put 2 screws on each side. The 3M tape is not necessarily needed.

 

^x2 I had two screws on each side though for the front..no tape needed

That's not from using no tape. I got the same thing on mine...and I used 3M super adhesive double sided tape. That's caused from the lip not fitting 100% and it scraping against the vent housing.

 

I got that too and yeah flea is right its because the way it fits is not 100%.
