After seeing this post I ordered the TRD from Beach Toyota on eBay - $90 plus about 17 shipping. It shipped VERY fast.
Someone suggested zip-tying the bar up to ease installation, that helped a lot.
I backed the box up on to ramps. I put the plates in with the finger pointing out, so I could adjust to get both holes to line up. My torque wrench didn't fit in there either, but I had one of those bendy-knuckle adapters and was able to get it torqued down just fine, it seemed to go right away, without the need to repeat as someone else mentioned, but I checked all around when done.
All told a very easy mod.
I put energy bushings up front at the same time. The ride was VASTLY improved, it had gotten really bumpy lately (the old bushings were pancakes, right at 30K miles.) I have stock springs and struts, sensamatics in the back. I didn't notice an increase in bounce or harshness at all, in fact it feels a lot better now (probably the bushings, an absolute must do!)
I don't drive "to the limit" so didn't notice much difference in turns, I might try some tight stuff in a parking lot this week.
In either case, trusting that this is a good mod, it was very easy, and not particularly expensive at all.

Nice, I ordered one from Beach Toyota a couple of weeks ago too. Still haven't installed it yet since I'm still waiting for a set of Koni rear shocks I ordered last week, due to my gr-2's going to ____.
