Default For you 2nd gen xb guys

A few years ago I was supposed to get a tC. To make things short stuff happened and I ended up buying very old and very used. I've been seriously thinking about a new car here soon and I'm severely torn between then tC and the second gen xB.

Would getting an xB be better than the tC in your eyes? I love how much room it has, how it has a shorter wheelbase and turning radius, better est. gas mileage and how it's almost as quick as the tC (same motor correct? and only 200 lbs. heavier?). It also seems like you can "do up" an xB almost however you want and anything is appropriate. Not a tC though.

About the only fallback here for the xB would be the non sportscar handling characteristics (duh). But would a good set of drop springs and struts help along with strut braces sway bars etc?

Who would you say has a more "friendly" ownership group?Like do more tC guys pull over or wave at each other more so than xB guys?

The xB is less expensive and I'm also assuming insurance would be less for the xB making it even more affordable. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this one.

Any help and input would be FAN-tastic! Thanks.

(and if this should be in another section mods please move)

i am a very friendly tC owner, i like to wave at any other tc's i see, heck, even any xB's. It just seems that no one likes to wave back... (maybe im just creepy or something )

i think the more friendly people will be the xb owners. but the tc does look so much better

tC is nice but I'd have to get the 2nd gen xB. It has 4 doors for easy acces for people. There are too many tCs out there anyways!...

Get the xB, drop it, put on the Hotchkis sway bars, and a nice set of tires & wheels; it will handle great.

(Of course I don't have a biased opinion or anything.)

If I were you I'd take both the XB and the TC for a test drive. I liked the XB for the extra room myself. Only thing I don't like so far is the cheesy armrest.. Still have to drop mine and get the five axis kit for it. Have fun eighter way!

See that's the thing. I've driven my buddies tC quite a few times but the dealer won't let me drive the xB in a five speed. I'm pretty much set on the xB though.

WTF? The only reason a dealership should say "no" to test driving a manual is if you don't know how. If you can drive a stick, call another dealership and explain to them that if they allow you to test drive, they have the opportunity to earn your business.

The dealership you've been to obviously doesn't understand customer service and doesn't care to earn your business. It must be nice to have such an arrogant attitude, especially at a car dealership, in these tough economic times.

Both vehicles are great. if you are looking for a sporty look and feel then TC is for you. But if you are looking for a car with lots of room for your everyday activities then the toaster is for you. Do you like road trips? do you like to drive your family and friends alot? then d toaster is for you. remember, both cars have similar motors and similar power. They're both made by Toyota so, either car is a win.

When I was buying my XB2 i went to a couple of dealerships. One dealership ONLY allowed me to drive an auto coz they ONLY have 1 XB (auto) available for test driving. Drove it anyway. I went to another dealership in my hood and they had 2(manual and auto) for test driving.

i got the xb2 because it has plenty of room for me and my 2 boys and decent cargo area for my work stuff. if it was only me and i didnt use my car for work, i would go with the tc.

If you need the space and utility of a 4 door vehicle with tons of cargo space then go with the xB2. But out of the 2 I would lean towards the tC. Being 20 assuming you're in college, and use the tC mostly to go out and have fun, I think the tC is perfect. If you go camping or travel much then the xB would be a better bet. We got the xB cuz my girl likes its uniqueness and at the time we lived in apartments we needed the extra space for groceries and laundry days, so the back cargo area was needed. You wont have as much space with the tC and if you have alot of friends then the tC wont carry everyone comfortably, but that might be better since you'll have less opportunities to throw up in your car.

i got an xb2 but im 25... so im not even in that category lol

i was driving a a 2dr GTI VR6 before and found out alot of ppl actually sit in my car most of the time so its troublesome to get in...
and the power in the xb2 is not that bad as well gets to point A to B with decent gas milage which matters the most
1 more thing to add is that im in canada and our insurance cost more if its a 2dr... my insurance cost before was about $260 a month and now its $160 so little things adds up
