Default What do you wish to change or improve about the xB2?

Just curious what other people's opinions were about their xB. In general, I'm pretty sure most of the owners here are happy w/ their cars but if you had to be picky what do you wish the car have or what do you wish could have been improved on the xB2?

1. I wish the car was more comfortable coming from the dealership. I personally think the tires were sh*tty and spring/shock combo to be rough.

2. I wish for yellow fogs!!!

3. I wish the rear hatch area had better lighting inside. Can't tell you how many times we've come home late at night fumbling around the trunk area looking for stuff.

share your thoughts.....

My only complaint would be better lighting. Like you said, very dark in the back and front. I wish those two reading lights would come on with the overhead. That would solve the front lighting issue. No real other complaints!

1) Put multi-information display toggle switch elsewhere, possibly on the steering wheel like the 09 RAV4s. They could have also placed it on the silver trim piece where the shifter is at, plenty of room there.
2) Rear speakers are not loud at all
3) Different seating material, I like the microfiber material you see in some cars that have a suede-like appearance to them.

If you put that fabric on the seats then cost would go up. If you really want different seat material I'd recommend better seats. That would make things more comfortable all around.

Yellow fog lights would be awesome.

do you guys use the little light in the hatch area? i used to fumble around back there, too, until i realized the light was there. if you leave it on, it will automatically turn off when you close the hatch.

i wish the interior plastic pieces weren't so easy to mar. i swear, if you breathe on them the wrong way, the scratch up.

I agree about the interior pieces being cheap...

having 2 backup lights would be nice too.
Center Armrest option instead of worthless seat mounted one.

I would require a disclosure to be signed if you bought an xb2, you could not start threads, polls or pertitions about what improvements should be made to the car.

Better stock tires. Two back up lights. A thicker stearing wheel. No SCUBA in the mid pipe. Other than that I like my car.

Better finish so it does not chip so easy and i don't like the electronic steering system, ah and no lumbar support and the stupid single back up light.

you dont like electronic steering.... So much easier..... wow..... would say two arm rests, agree with the rear light, the side one only works if you don't have stuff back there..... agree with the paint, however thats an added expense.... HID headlights standard. The factory tires did suck yes, however I dont have a problem with the suspension its not a sports car....

this certainly isn't meant to be a poll about what you hate about your car.... but c'mon lets be real, there are things that people would have liked to have. Granted most would drive costs up but the purpose for starting this thread was I was reading about some complaints or questions people had about improving ride comfort and noise..... I've come up with a good fix that doesn't require changing coilover's or springs and now am wagering if it would be cost efficient to make this product oversea's and not go broke. Some things are an easy fix w/ a simple bushing, different bolt, etc....

issues with seats or interior plastic feeling cheap I can't do anything about but issues like road noise, possible HUD, or steering wheel LED display are all possible things that with a bit of resourcing could be an easy fix. Well thats' the first step..... next is taking the step to come up w/ the products that would fix or solve the issue w/o costing so much. I'm pretty confident I can produce some bushings that would cost less than $40 to help ease the road noise and apply better ride comfort..... my problem at the moment is to lower the cost I have to order in the thousands, and I honestly just don't know if I can offset the cost to even make it worth it.

Another arm rest
Display and odo/trip buttons moved closer to the driver.
And, finally, more notches in the seat back adjustment...I'm either too reclined or inclined...so I constantly switch between the 2 settings. Drives me crazy.

I love my xB though...there's always going to be SOMETHING you would change about any car you drive. And considering the price of these cars...they're a steal.

It'd be nice if the mpg was a little better...coulda used a smaller engine, maybe make the car lighter. Also a little more distinctive -- maybe less rounding, more hard angles, a bit more square-shap- OW OW OW STOP HITTING ME

just funnin' ya. seriously, though: the B2 doesn't already have independent rear suspension?! gasp. i guess i musta test drove mine after Chicago's Annual Post-Winter Road Rebuilding. Or maybe the salesman purposely steered me away from potholes - linked suspensions suck.

normally i just use these threads to make fun of people who want rain-sensing wipers and HUD on their $18,000 car, but if Scion was going for a more "refined" ride when they executed the B1, that should have been the first thing to fix.

Default The seats.

The only problem I have is the seats. For local driving it's fine. After a couple of hours my back is breaking. I drive another car for work and owned plenty others, but this is becoming an issue. Does anyone have any suggestions about upgrading the seats?
