Hey all

Just bought a set of xxr 501's 16x8. I know theres a ton of sportmax threads, and i went through all of them with no real luck.

I'm looking to do a slight stretch, and maybe have a tire that would bring the radius to slightly smaller then stock...I want to avoid rubbing as much as possible before i can get my fenders rolled (lord knows when that will be). I should mention I'm dropped on TRD springs and shocks, so about an inch.

I know nothing about tires. What size should I be looking to get, to get a slight stretch? and if you have any pics, that'd be great, too.

I have 002's in 16X8 and I'm on a 2" drop. The tires are 205/40R16. You would need to go with a taller side wall than what I have because of the trd drop. Maybe a 205/50 or 205/55. It will lessen the stretched look the taller you go in that size. A 195 might work better, too.

 

I'd go with a 195/50

here is a 195/45/16 on my 002s.



It also depends on tire BRAND as well, like here is a 205/40/16 on a 16x8 in wheel in one brand,

and same size tire diff brand on same wheel.

Just got them in the mail...gonna order my 195/45's today.

 

Just looking for tires now...no one can seem to find 195/45r16's...What if I went with 205/45? would there strill be a stretch?

 

here are the brands that I know of that make that size,

Toyo, Yokohama, Federal, Michelin, Falken, Nankang, Kumho, and there may be another or two.

 

go with the toyo proxes

 

i suggest the falken 512s if you can still get them.

P.s., the studs on the first rim are a work of art.
