Default Best dampers/shocks?

Hello,

I recently installed Eibach pro kit springs on my xA. The only problem is that now I would really like some stiffer dampers (shocks). I was wondering what are some good companies that offer a good set at a good price? I'm really interested in the TRDs, are those any good? I've alsoo been looking at KYB and Tokico, but I've heard bad things about Tokico and I'm scared that KYBs are cheap POSs. I know that Koni is an excellent choice, but I don't have that kind of money. My limit is $300 for the dampers.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I have the Monroes and I really like em. They aren't really that stiff though. There's a set of TRDs for sale here... check em out in PPC.

The only thing stiffer than the OEM stuff would be adjustable Konis. Why would you want stiff struts and shocks for a street driven car? Get Monroes all around and enjoy the ride.

I wanted stiffer dampers to improve handling. Stiffer does not imply hard as a rock if that's what you thought I meant. I just wanted struts that offered more dampening since the OEM's were not dampening enough. I autocross my car occasionally and wanted some better stuff. So some people want stiffer dampers on a street driven car to improve handling. Personally, I don't enjoy feeling as if I'm riding on a water bed, which is what the ride felt like before getting new dampers.

I ended up buying some TRD struts from the ppc. They work really well with my springs, and the ride is still comfortable although they are stiffer than the OEMs.

Supposedly they're supposed to drop ~0.2 inches with stock springs. I was already dropped with my Eibach pro-kit springs on OEM struts before, so I haven't noticed a significant difference. It does seem that it may be slightly lower, but I'm not sure.

The only struts that add drop are the Monroes made for the Echo. 1 inch to be exact.
