Scion xB Gains Additional Audio Functionality For 2010

The iconic Scion xB urban utility vehicle will continue to appeal to young consumers as it receives new standard and optional audio systems for the 2010 model year. The new standard Pioneer audio system features iPod/USB connectivity, a programmable welcome message screen and an RCA output for adding an external amplifier and subwoofer. An available Alpine Premium audio system takes the standard audio to the next level with several upgrades including a 4.3-inch color touch-screen monitor, HD Radio™ technology and optional navigation. The boxy xB receives one new exterior color, Sizzling Crimson Mica, which replaces Blackberry Crush Metallic.

Dang, I need to buy my xB this summer but I don't know if i can wait for the 2010s. Those HU look awsome, I wonder if they would work with older models. I may just try to hold out as long as I can so I can get an 2010, really want an xB with SCM and the premium HU.

Unless you really want a 2010 don't wait for that head unit (Pioneer or Alpine) The dealers charge way to much and they are nothing special. Just get a Pioneer AVIC F90 about $500.00 and lots more features. Touch screen,Nav and VR to name a few.
I love mine.

I was watching some videos on YouTube with that same headunit and noticed that there is a 30 second or so delay when the system is starting up. The display reads "System starting up. Please wait."

Does that headunit do that every time you turn on the car? Because if so, that would get old and annoying really quick.

My delay is only a couple sec and then i have whatever I was listening to when I shut the car off. By the time I'm buckled up everything is going before I back out of my driveway except my bluetooth takes as long as 60 sec to connect to my phone but that's not a big deal to me. Just remember the head unit is also like a computer for all software to boot it's really quick if you compare it to a PC. As long as my music is going I can wait a few sec for the rest. Well worth it to me. If you have your i-pod set up it doesn't need to load everytime so music is just a couple sec. If you have to wait for i-pod to load all the info it takes a while to upload all the data so you only set it to upload when you have made changes to it. I have had no problems with mine at all.

Cartoys.com they are a Cert dealer. I think after I bought mine they went up to $539 or $549 something like that. Also I know they are comming out with a new model but I'm sure it will be around a grand or so.

Wow my bad I paid $529. New not refrub full 2yr warranty. If it's a refurb or anything other than new by law they have to tell you that and it would be in the order details. I can't believe they raised the price that much. I just bought mine a couple months ago. But there are other places you can buy them just google it.
