I sorta came into a fork in the road. Im going to order my suspension parts soon, but i dont know which rear shock to get,the 5870 or the MA815. Everybody has the 5870 so i know they are good, and i can get them for 15+ship, from rockauto.com. Also i can get that rebate from Monroe. The MA815 are nice because they are adjustable air shocks, but i searched and didnt find much on them. they are about 65 shipped for a full kit (shocks lines etc.).

So, yeah, any input would be great.

if your carrying weight the air is nice......if you just want low with good handling 5870's are good

Koni yellow FTW! You will never have to buy another shock again!

 

lol Koni's are expensive. if i had teh $$ for koni's id save a bit more and get coils

 

I'm gonna put this out there... not super impressed with the 5870s.

 

Really? Why is that?

 

Through personal expirence and what other people tell me is that Koni's are proven to be a better shock that what most coilover kits come with. I was told that its a proven fact, but I have yet to conform that, but I do believe it. That's what they use in a lot of professional racing.

 

I run progress coils with Koni's

 

It's still kinda jumpy at times (the short wheelbase doesn't help though)
The biggest issue is that the design at the top is different so the bushing isn't really ideal and when they bottom out, you know it.

 

ahhh i see, hmmm maybe ill just get the air shocks

 

keep the factory in front and the Monroe's in the rear and I bet it goes away

 

I'm willing to sacrifice it for the drop that the Monroes give up front.

 

do you understand that for your apilcation those are going to jar the fillings from your teeth? the car is not heavy enough on its own or with 3000+lbs added to it to effectively use air shocks...

 

i just want to be able to lower the rear a bit more so i can sit with a even drop

 

once you put some kind of box in the back of the car it will even it out...

 

yeah, but then if there is to much weight it'll sit lower in the rear

 

it will take a lot to throw off DF210s (which are what you have, right?) due to their lbs/in2. as long as you dont go crazy with a setup (numerous subs/amps/huge box) your good...
