Default What Kind of Used Prices Are You Getting on 08 XBs?

We really like the 08 XB model. So much so that we are looking to buy our 2nd one. We just bought our 1st 08 with 24K miles for $13K. I thought that was a great deal, $2K under KBB for the options. The car had some minor blemishes and smelled pretty strong from a large dog, but a couple of thorough cleanings and some Febreze took car of that. I think we got lucky. The few used 08 program cars at the local dealers are advertised approx $2k more. I am curious as to what everyone thinks how the poor economy and poor auto market are affecting the used XB market. I can buy a used truck right now for a song. What are you seeing out there for the used XB 08 market? The local dealerships don't seem to have any new 08 left, but lots of 09s. Anyone willing to share their used Scion buying experience? Thanks!

As a first car buyer, my price was amazing... of course mine came preloved by what seemed to be a family with children who likes to miss the keyhole by the ignition alot, and used stollers folded i nthe back (maybe bacycles as well). A few belmishes on the outside, but it all came off on a 60 degree saturday with a little A.S.O.T.V. scuff remover. 17,926k miles is what i had on mine, and i talked them down to 13. You are right, they do look for 15 for them because of the high resale value... althought they got me on the extended warranty because it was used which bumped it right back up to 15, but i'm not angry. Frankly, i couldnt be happier, except my insurance rates are through the roof..... being a teenager in NY is not fun when it comes to insurance

That's a great price too! Certainly buying from a private owner seems to be the better deal. We aren't in a hurry, so we'll keep looking and hopefully will get another deal like our 1st one or like you did!

Here in Northern California, the average price I've seen for an 08 with 10-20k miles (base model) is $16k-17k. Which is crazy considering you can get a new one for that!

I found one with 10,000 miles, and all kinds of upgrades (including an ill sunroof) for $16k. That was an awesome deal for the Bay Area, IMO.

Default great deal!

I got a great deal on my 08 CSM Xb. It had 1250 miles on it, no problem at all or any kind of blemishes, manual and I picked it up for $13000... out the door after tax $15000! I bought the Xb from a Chevrolet dealer, they first listed the vehicle for $15000 something before taxes... I waited for about 1 1/2 month and after they dropped the price twice... they finally took my offer... so I say... patience!! no rush... people will want to move cars out of their lots....

Where do you live Kuma? Prices change drastically depending on your location.

When my 08 xB was totaled last summer, after arguing for a week or two, they gave me $16 after tax, so after a year, $13 is pretty reasonable.

you guys are def. getting better deals. This is the only xb2 around me and i'd get a better deal if I went straight to the dealer and paid tax and bought a warranty and everything.
