Default If you had ten grand to put in your 09 xb?

Ok, short of savings, paying it down, etc, what would do to your xb?

I am looking at:

smoked anzos
the rear hood
over head storage
body kit with replacement bumper
roof rack with hard shell storage box
darker rear window tint, front window tint
window wind deflectors
rke, alarm w/remote start
stock speaker upgrades
intermittened rear wiper controller
cai

Not interested in wheels, paint or lowering. Maybe a mural painting and some light weight or oem rims and some snow/mud tires.

well, honestly, with so many people these days having tough times with the economy and such, if the car isn't paid off, i would put it towards that, can't be too safe these days. and it makes no sense to just dump 10 grand in a car that isn't completely yours yet.

i would put money in the things that are convient and enjoyable on daily basis, with the storage bins, window tint, wind deflectors and upgraded stereo and speakers, and alarm system.

body kits...meh, they usually have terrible fitment, and getting them painted is expensive, and if you get into a fender bender and such, it sucks getting it replaced and fixed.

and the roof rak and storage bin...if you use them, yeah, why not. i don't prefer them because they reduce aerodynamics and raise the center of gravity of the car, but if you need the cargo capacity, go for it.

If this is a hypothetical question where someone gave you $10G's to ONLY put into your car, then I could make a list. But if you're asking what YOU explicitly should do, then I can't say. That's all dependent to you. It's your car and your tastes.
But myself, besides putting a bag of 100 $100 bills in the car...

1. AME Shallen WX's in 19x8.5's and 19x10.5's (maybe, kind of dependent on some factors...)
2. AIR! Get my car as low as I want it to be.
3. Either the Kenwood DNX8120 or a full on carputer...
4. Lexus LS460 seats front and rear, with heat/cooling/power/etc.
5. Recover headliner and other interior panels.
6. Header and exhaust stuff.
7. Shave hatch and spray the car in a certain pearl.

Done. But that's all me and my tastes.

If I could only put it into my xb I would boost it, bag it and throw the Five Axis lip kit on it. Those are the last 3 big things I have to do...I wish I had the money

I worked in a shop for a while. $10G's would cover the chop, glass, body work, and paint. Buh bye $10G's. :D

damn son!! thats alot! I thought for sure I was under 10 grand and I added all my $hit up and im over 14Gs!!! WTF!! I didnt even think I could ever possibly afford that! And the sad part is I didnt even start on the interior/ sounds except my Kenwood 8120 and my motor is stock except for cai, pulley, tbs, and killerglass radiator hose. Wow, that really makes me re-think my future spendings on this car . . . For what I want on the interior and sounds is a lil over 7Gs. I think I need to get sponsored, too bad nobody really sponsors people in hawaii. that sucks.
My OPINION, since you sound like your not gonna go all out, would be . . . . just get the basics: tint, storage compartment things, roof racks, sounds, thats about it. oh and some cool graphics like u said. Completely opposite of my car, but that sounds like what you are going for.

I love how half the posts on here people say they want airbags. other than an amazing turbo setup, i think airbags is the single coolest mod you can do. I LOVE MY AIRRUNNER!!!!!

Hmm...

Sound deaden the entire vehicle
New tires (I'd spend about $200 per tire)
Cusco coilovers
Eibach sway bars
Tint the windows and tailights
Rumion spoiler
5 axis lip kit
OEM fog lights
upgrade speakers/tweeters and headunit

I did a rough estimate and all that comes out to about $6000. The rest I'd probably just save.

I like this list the most, Including saving the leftover money. I already have good speakers, so I'd get an Alpine PDX-5 amp and a new head unit. I also might get 18" rims or have my existing ones stripped and polished to a brushed metal look. I just got limo tint for all the "legal" windows today. It looks killer.

Thanks. I was going to make the xb my new speed deamon, but seems they discontinued the trd supercharger kit and the lsd is for the stick only.

Other than that, shaft hit the nail and AAG with the sound deadening material. I sprayed my back half with the 3m rubberized undercoating and man, its quiet as well as my xa. Id love to pull up the carpet and get the front too and under the head liner.

Anyway, looks like 2.7 grand is going to the xb, rest to savings. My loan is a fixed rate at simple interest, so there is no advantage to pay it off early.

Here is the list.

roof rack and extra storage 800 bucks
window retint 500 bucks
rke, remote start alarm 500 bucks
rear scion spoiler 400 bucks
replacenment speakers 200 bucks
smoked anzos 300 bucks
