Default My sister hit my xb -_______-

So tonight was fun, was making dinner for the family and realized I forgot some gravy for my mom. I told her I'd run to the store since it's ½ a mile down the road, I jump in my xb and driving through my neighborhood @ 20mph. I get about 100 feet from the end of the road and see my sister coming around the corner pulling into the neighborhood to come home for dinner. I see her come straight into my lane so I stopped because I thought she was just joking around ya know, how friends will swerve in front of you or stop and ask where you're headed.. I stop, she doesn't, keeps drifting across the lane and hits my front end going about 15-20mph. I immediately jumped out cussing/yelling trying to figure out what she was doing. Telling her it could've been a person there and she could've seriously hurt/killed a small child. She had no explanation. I grabbed her phone to check for any texts/calls and there were none. She said she just kinda blacked out, wasn't thinking. Then said she thought she saw something on the road and swerved. She didn't swerve at all. Didn't hit the gas or brakes either.

Long story short, I didn't call the cops, because then she would get a ticket, plus our insurance would shoot up, $500 deductible on each car, that's $1,000, plus the increase of insurance. Called the parents and they said just to bring them to the house and we'd go get estimates tomorrow. Now I need opinions. I don't THINK the headlight is messed up, but it looks jammed against the fender. I think it's just a bumper replacement, but not too sure. I'm going to get estimates tomorrow, but what would you guys do?

And btw.. she's not getting off easy.. she just got a job and will be paying the parents back until it's paid off. It just sucks because I have been so careful in this car, no tickets, no nothing, been so good to this car and now this =(

yeah.. i don't believe anything she said.. i'm thinking she was looking for her phone or something or playing with the radio.. just something like that seems like something she would do.. when parents got there she blamed it on the brakes..

i think it looks like that due to the bumper being dented in... the headlights jut out unlike most cars so when the new bumer is insalled, you might be able to see. Or if you take an overhead shot with the bumper removed, you'll be able to see IMO... sucks though sorry to hear

She not only drifted into your lane, she crossed it completely and hit you on the front right. She needs to lose her license & take driving lessons all over again.

Glad you're OK, and I'm surprised from the damage that your airbag didn't blow.

ouch.. that sucks =(

quotes were $819 and $1230 from 2 diff body shops.. the $819 was from the dealer shop.. which would be able to get the parts quicker and he was more honest with me about what would have to be done. i'm trusting the cheaper one and i told him i know it will be higher because when they pop the bumper off i'm sure they'll need some little parts here and there. but i just got a call about a job so i have to travel to houston texas next week for testing & interviews so once i get the job i'll just leave my car at the shop

man that sucks. I had an integra awhile back and me and my bro went to the store and i told my sister in law if she needed to go anywhere the keys are on the counter. When i come home i see the car is moved so i asked where did ya go and she just looked at me like a deer in the headlights. She then told me that she had backed into a van that was going down the street when she was backing out. I go outside and look and just like your bumper there was paint missing along the whole backside.

So i agree some women should not be driving!!!

some women>????

all women...unless they're driving to the grocery store to make dinner for u..

o btw...i thought this was interesting....app my teacher told me u can hit a woman in iowa as long as the mark left is not bigger than a thumbprint....

i would take this to its full advantage and explain to the judge that those marks on my sister are all individually only a thumbs size..and the law doesnt mention how many thumbprint size marks a woman can have on her

XD

yeah she just got her a job.. i'm taking the car in the next few weeks to get fixed.. every bit of her check besides her gas & lunch money is going to me or my parents pocket.. depends on who pays for the repairs.. then she can work on her own car getting fixed..

i will however disagree with the anti-women drivers.. if i had a choice to drive my own car across the country of my g/f drive it.. i'd hand the keys to my g/f.. even though she hates driving her car.. she's never had a speeding ticket.. the only ticket she got was for "making an illegal u-turn" when she pulled into a parking lot.. when was just a left hand turn.. she actually went into the parking lot to turn around and not just in the exit lane.. it was ridiculous.. her mazda6 has been in 2 accidents.. both without her in it.. her mom backed her car out and ripped the front bumper off by turning too sharp.. and the rear quarter panel was dented in a hit&run in wal-mart parking lot a few weeks ago..

now my little sister on the other hand..
*insert insane amount of anger here*
