I'm not really sure how to even go about this, but i was just browsing on craigslist and came across a supposed "2008, 11,500K mile RS 5.0" for $4000
I emailed him, humored at how he could sell it for that cheap, and his reply was that it was in london, and he would ship it to me, gave me one of those detailed explanations along with the number out of 2500. 2238 is the number he told me it was
He also supplied the VIN number (JTLKE50E181021601)
If anyoe has the unlimited plan on carfax.. that would help to find out things
And more pictures

I can't make out the rear plate or the vinyl from WHERE the scion was purchased... if anyone can help me on that one...(see rear side view)
If this is infact legitimate, yet highly unlikely.. MINE.

I'm not saying im going to shell out $4000 dolalrs to the guy... i may be young but not THAT prone to stupid decisions haha, When the title is in my hand saying i bought it for $4000 and it's on my driveway with auto larson checks cleared, i'll give the man his $$
There are tons of these types of things on Craigslist. Usually something very recent for WAY less than book. They often get flagged and removed fairly quickly though. There's usually some yahoo or gmail address within the listing (not the actual craigslist email you'd normally use).
lol it's a scam. this guy tried selling me an 2001 honda accord with 2,000 miles on it for $4000 and he said that the car was in montana at the military base he was stationed at. i didn't know they had military bases in montana...
i just had some guy with the exact same story but its for a house for rent that was way way cheap. after about 3 emails back and forth with the it sounded like a total scam so i sent him a email that said fvck you!!! havent heard from him since then. what a bunch of shady people out there tryna rip people off. what a sad sad world . . .

Haha well what he's claiming is that he started a small business and this is to get money for it. Supposedly he's claiming it is all going to be done through eBay's vehicle protection plan( as in I inspect and notify them after I approve and am covered up to$50,000) and he does not recieve the money until I inspect the car after it has shipped from London. If I don't like it I get to ship it back at his expense. Small business... But he's willng to spend all this shipping money?
one word scam.....theres no 08 xb that goes for 4k with only 12k miles on it...plus its been modfied not that a bad thing but that cost money also...total scam...the only place i buy my cars from is the dealership..that can be a totally different car then what he a pictured thats what they all do.....if they say they wil ship it for you thats plain bull legit sellers will make you pay or pick up the car

As for the VIN, i'm not surprised.
Good investigating, thanks
FYI, I work for a bank and most fraud is slightly less than 5000 dollars.
If you get in a scam with requirements to deposit or cash a check, some banks will give you money from a check deposit within 24 hours, while it can take a few weeks at the latest to clear.
Wire transfer is cash and there is no disputing those transactions.
