Default Brake issue

Hey all,

So my brakes have started to squeek. No problem . I replaced the front pads and checked over the rotars and all seemed fine.

I was unsure of how to remove the rear drums and since i have never had a drum off before i decded to take it in to the shop to have them look at it.

On the way in the brakes where still squeeking so i know it is the rears brakes.

The garage called me to let me know the the front roters are fine but the back drums are warped and need to be plained. The shoes in the rear are also fine and do not need to be replaced.

My question is this:

Is it possible for a drum to warp and the shoe be fine? I thougt that worn shoes cause drums to warp.

The shop is only chargig me $20.00 per side to plain them so its not a real big deal anyways, but who wonts to get ripd off anyways.

You can get your drums/ rotors to warp without wearing out your shoes/pads. Drums/rotors warp by rapid heating and cooling, like running a canyon or race event and immideately stopping the vehicle without driving a few miles to cool down the brakes before stopping.
