When you buy a pair of shoes at a retail store that cost $40, do you go up to the cashier and offer $15? I suggest you read the PPC rules. I was kind enough to post the ones I assumed you'd break in my thread as well.
no. theres a white adhesive backing behind the plate that reads "NITTO No.500" in baby blue letters. i assume you remove this and stick the plate onto the actual cap once it's screwed properly on the car. in the box, the plate is taped onto the cap (i guess so it stays in place inside the box).
I got one for my girl and one for me. Its actually not as simple as tightening the cap and placing the sticker on. You actually have to drive around for a little and then place the sticker on. Even if the cap fits right for the first time, eventually over time the alignment will change.
thanks for the info. i never thought about that. makes sense though because when you hand tighten the cap and run the engine for a while, the cap is usually on tighter than the first time. i'll be sure to let the buyer know.
