will 215/35/18's work on 18x8?

 

215 / 25.4 = 8.46....thats an 8.5" wide tire.

I am planning to get the motegi sp 10 18". With offset 40mm. With the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS (225/40R1 all seasons.
I am also lowering it with hotchkis springs.

Will there be any rubbing with such combo?
Any recommendations?

kinda beefy tires on an xb, but with that offset, should be ok...maybe on hard dips in the rear, depending on spring rate
