Default H&R Cup Suspension Kit

Was on TireRack today looking for shocks for my future suspension mod and came across the H&R Cup Suspension Kit. Anyone have any opinion or feedback on them? I think they're relatively new so I doubt anyone on this board has them yet (maybe I'll be the first ). Anyways, wondering if anyone has any feedback if they're had them on previous cars or anything? I'm currently deciding between these, or Koni Sports for the Echo that I'm hoping will fit on my xA.

H&R Cup Suspension Kit
Note: Avg low 2.2"F 1.8"R
Kit: $547

Koni
Front set: $322
Rear set: $194
H&R Racing Spring Set: $179
Total: $695

Any words of wisdom? Thanks.

The only problem I have with the H&R cup kit is the drop... I think that's _way_ too low for the street.

Also, with the Koni shocks...they are adjustable, no? That's always a plus.

2.2 is no where near way too low.

Yes, the Koni's are adjustable, however, I am unsure of the fitment.

a) If the Koni Echo shocks will fit onto the xA fine
b) If H&R springs for an xA will fit onto Koni Echo shocks.

I'm willing to give the H&R Cup Kit a shot because they're much cheaper than my Koni setup, as well as I won't have to worry about fitment.

I'm reading on H&R's site that it's recommend that I change the chambers. Can anyone explain to me what that is and what it does?

I had the HR Cup Kit on my 2002 GTi. The ride quality was obviously stiffer, more controlled, and the appearance far nicer, but they were certainly not abusive nor too low. I have only the RS-R springs in my xB presently, and although they are working great, I will eventually replace them with the HR Cup Kit.

Now it's just money, and other people's feedback! As of right now, 1+ for H&R! Keep the comments coming!

I think Tamago has the tanabe setup. If I recall correctly, he said it's a little on the soft side when it comes to the dampening.

I think Tein is the only Japanese company that can service the dampers in the US. All the others have you ship them back to Japan. However, if I were to get Tein coilovers, I'd get a Super Street setup (EDFC compatible or not).

As of right now, once my stock shocks blow, I'll probably get Koni Yellow shocks for my eibach springs. If I end up wanting to go lower...probably Tein SS.

If I decide to go with the Koni setup, will I need new cambers?

I thought about the H&R Cups, but I don't wanna be the guinea pig.

Mikochu: How soft are the Tanabes? Soft as in comfy or soft as in bouncy? I just want the most comfy/not bouncy ride possible with a 2+ in drop - I won't be racing. I've pretty much decided on Tein Basics, any reason I should spend the extra for the SS?

I don't know... Tamago never "rode me in his car."

Default Tirerack magically raises price overnight

I think it's kind of fishy that Tirerack would raise its price overnight! They raised the price cause we started showing interest in the package so our friend Roger changed the numbers. Not cool at all.

I already made my order, so does that mean I'm going to be charged the original price when it ships?

Either way, it looks like I will probably be the guinea pig.

I completely agree with you. The H&R Race Springs just went up in price as wel from $179 to $199. Either that or H&R is changing the price for all their products.
