Default 2006 Xb Pirelli P4 tires 185 60R 15

I have a 2006 Xb with 15 inch 7 spoke Toyota alloy wheels.
Anyone use Pirelli P4 tires on their vehicle? TireRack.com says these
are good tires. I live in Southern California so snow is not an issue.
Thanks, I just bought the 2006 and absolutely understand the enthusiasm for the Xb culture.

I am also looking at Cooper CS4 T rated tires for about $10 more per tire. Any suggestions here? I want great quality. thanks!

You could get a set of Falken 912s in size 195/60/15 shipped for under 250 bucks.
They ride and wear great. Plus going one size up makes the speedo read right and you get a better ride quality. Here is the link

Thanks, Jeff for this website. So many value choices. Going one size wider increases handling with more rubber on the road. I park on a side incline which puts more pressure on the sidewall. Will the wider tire significantly weaken the sidewall?
Thanks so much, I love this Xb!!

Not that I know of. Just slightly wider and taller. Fills the wheelwell more. Lowers the rpms on the hwy too, so slightly better mpgs.
This is a common replacement tire size for the xB and xA.

Default Tire Rack recommends 195 55 15 size

I called Tire Rack and they recommend 195 55 15 because they are 23.4 High compared to 23.7 high for 185 60 15 stock tires.
I have seen two conflicting posts stating the 2006 speedometer is set to 195 60 15 or 185 65 15. I do not know what to buy. Any more thoughts on sizes? I am ready to buy...

Tire Rack (idiots) will not sell you tires they "feel" don't fit right. IMO the 195/60/15's should have been the OEM size cause the speedo is actually more correct. If they won't sell you that size then buy them from someone that won't argue with their customers. The larger size gives a MUCH better ride.

Default Thanks Jeff, I ordered 195 60 15

Thanks for input. I should receive the tires for install today from www.discount-tires-2go.com. I bought Michelin MXV4 88H tires after a deal of research. Less than $390 for the top touring tire. I will report soon as I plan a road trip of a couple hundred miles... Thanks again, also Jeff

You'll love the Michelins you lucky dog. I wanted to go that route but my wife made me go cheaper.

Default Love them already, Fantastic ride quality!

Thanks again, Jeff, I got this size due you you and this forum. 15 miles down the freeway, these tires are so worth the $$. I did not dislike the stock original tires, but I got rid of them after 3 years and 8 months with 18,000 miles. I had my installer offer them to any college student needing tires. I love my Bento Box after 1,000 miles and the difference in ride quality is just undescribable. Someday I will be buying a new Scion (generation 3?) and will put these tires on before I go home from the dealer! I'll give the stock ones to another needy student.
The ride quality of the 2006.5 Xb always was good, now it is great. This feels like a $50,000 Volvo!

Default 500 miles driven, still love the tires

Michelin MXV4's in 195 60 15 are worth the money. The ride is incredible on hilly, windy back roads. The tire size is perfect for the Toyota Alloy rims. It took a while to get used to my car being taller, but I like it now.
Thanks for all the advice. Consider spending more for a better tire.
I work at a high end private golf course and a couple of people commented about the tires already and they drive $60,000 - $300,000 vehicles! It seems that Infinity I 35 & 37 come with the Michelins.
The ride is very smooth without being boring.
